UFC 92 Match-Ups for Dec. 27 Card in Las Vegas MGM Grand Garden Arena
Attractions in Vegas Add commentsUFC 92 has arrived and the card is full of match-ups that are among the most anticipated fights of the year as Forrest Griffin defends his title against ““Sugar” Rashad Evans; Antonio “Minotauro” Nogueira battles Frank Mir; and Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva faces Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
The 6’3, 205-pound Griffin will carry his 16-4 mark into the Octagon and is a heavy favorite over the 5’11, 205-pound Evans who has compiled an impressive 17-0-1 record. Griffin surprised many with huge wins over Mauricio Rua and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson while Evans earned a big win over Chuck Liddell.
Veteran fighter Antonio “Minotauro” Nogueira brings a 31-4-1 record into the Octagon, along with a 6’4, 240-pound frame, when he faces the 6’3, 240-pound Frank Mir who has compiled an 11-3 mark. A win on Saturday night could set Nogueira up for a battle with Brock Lesnar while Mir is looking to shut down the rumors that his best fighting days are behind him.
“The Axe Murderer” Wanderlei Silva carries his 5’11, 205-pound frame along with a 32-8-1 record into the Octagon to face the 6’1, 2-5-pound Quinton Jackson who has racked up a 28-7 record. Silva has beaten Jackson in their two previous bouts and both seem to share a mutual hatred for the other.
