Making the most of your Las Vegas holiday requires a certain savvy. There are many pitfalls that await travellers and they can cost you money and spoil your vacation. Stay away from the following to make you Las Vegas travel more enjoyable.

- The money wheel, aka the Big Six Wheel or the Wheel of Fortune, is the big spinning clicking wheel that people think is a good idea to warm up on. However, it has the worst return of any game in a casino with about 44% of every dollar being kept by the casino.

- Signing up for every reward is just asking for junk mail, spam and telemarketers. Casinos have to market themselves just like any other business and getting people to sign up for their mailing lists with the promise of rewards is just another way they do it.

-Keeping all your money on you. If you have to stop playing to get more money will let you take a break that you probably need. If you happen to win big, it’s also a good idea to not keep your winnings too close at hand.

The Elvis Presley Museum in Las Vegas, more commonly referred to as the Elvis-A-Rama, can be found at 3401 Industrial Road in Las Vegas.

Although Elvis was born in Mississippi and raised in Memphis he was a large part of Las Vegas’ flash and glamor in the 1960’s and 70’s. Elvis first appearance in Las Vegas was in 1956 at the New Frontier Hotel; unfortunately it was not met with positive reviews.

The museum used to house a large collection, privately owned, of Elvis memorabilia. In 2006 Elvis Presley Enterprises bought the memorabilia and the museum and closed it to replace it with a more classy attraction on the strip. Unfortunately the museum is yet to reopen.

When is the best time to visit Las Vegas? It’s a common question asked by travelers. There are a couple good answers depending on the person.
So when exactly should I visit Las Vegas? That is up to you. If you like outdoor activities like golf and tennis then Spring or Fall would be best for you as it is still warm but not too warm and there is very little rain. If you really like the heat and the sun then Summer would be your best bet. Summer weather is hot with the temperature hovering above 100 F during midday. Winter is still a good time to see Las Vegas if you don’t like the heat but it is still warm enough for shorts and t-shirts during the day.

How to get into Las Vegas Nightclubs

Attractions in Vegas 1 Comment »

It is important to note that most clubs have a cover charge with the top clubs charging at least $20 just to get in. There are exceptions which can include those that have booked a table, ladies and sometimes locals of Nevada. Depending on the night you will have to wait to get inside. The wait can be anywhere from 10 minutes to a couple of hours. It is a good idea to get to the club earlier before 10pm, and while there won’t be too many people the line will be considerably shorter and you may not even have to pay the cover charge. One important thing to remember is that tables in Las Vegas clubs come with a bottle purchase and unless you continually purchase bottles of alcohol you will be asked to leave the table. Most clubs have dress codes so you should avoid tank tops, hats, t-shirts and jeans.
