My Perfect Day In Vegas…

So I’ve told you all about the sort of things I like to do when in Las Vegas, but I thought I would now tell you what my ideal day would be from start to finish…

I usually stay at the Tropicana Hotel, which is situated right next to the MGM and near the end of the strip. It’s pretty handy as it’s on the strip so everything is quite easy to access. It also has a fabulous pool area so on a day where I just want to chill in the summer season I will just soak up some sun and have a swim.

Due to the ‘Jet lag’ and 8 hour time difference in Vegas I do tend to be up really early no matter what time I go to sleep, however I use this to my own advantage and tend to go for an early walk and soak up the atmosphere of the strip. I will often go and see the ‘Welcome to the Fabulous Las Vegas’ sign and grab a coffee from the nearest Starbucks.

I then tend to use the hotel gym and fit in a quick session before I go for breakfast, either at the hotel buffet or take advantage of one of the amazing buffets in the other hotels on the strip, my favourite has to be the ‘Wicked Spoon’ in the Cosmopolitan, although not the cheapest it has such a wide variety of tasty foods and also you can pay extra for bottomless mimosas.

After a large brunch I tend to try and walk it off with a spot of shopping in the Planet Hollywood mall which is just opposite. My favourite shop has to be Sephora, where I buy all my makeup and beauty must haves. Bath and Body works is also another favourite I love the Mahogany Teakwood candles they do, it smells of Abercrombie and Fitch, they also do great gifts. I always pop in Victoria Secrets; I love their fitness range. GNC is great to get my protein bars etc. If I have more time I will venture over to the Outlets, South or North – they are both good but I tend to go to the South as they have more of the shops I like to go in like Calvin Klein, Pandora etc. You can get yourself some incredible bargains, I personally think they are the best outlets I’ve been to in the states!

After a big spend (and a telling off from my financial adviser boyfriend for spending too much) I tend to either take all my shopping back to the hotel or carry on to Caesars palace and treat myself to a yummy gelato or take advantage of the free tasters, the chocolate brownie has to be my favourite. The best and most cost effective way to get around the Las Vegas Strip and to the outlets etc is to use the ‘Deuce’ bus its around $18 for 3 days of use and you can hop on hop off which is fab, it also comes often and stops at most of the hotels.

Caesars Palace Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the evening I will normally go for a nice meal at my favourite restaurant Mon Ami Gabi located at the bottom of the Paris Hotel. Its French cuisine and I normally have the steak. As I mentioned in a previous post, the best part about eating at this restaurant is if you manage to get a seat sitting outside (which is well worth the wait) you can sit and watch the fabulous Bellagio fountains. Another restaurant good for quick yummy food is The Cheesecake Factory in Caesars Palace, it’s so good and they have a ‘Skinny’ menu as well (perfect for the fitness freaks like myself!), the menu is so big there is something for everyone.

After eating out I will either go out for cocktails, to a nightclub or go and watch a show. In the summer season they have pool parties on all the time and I definitely suggest that you go to one. My favourite is ‘XS Night Swim’ – it’s a pool party at night and it has got to be on the best nights I have ever experienced. There is so much going on, you can go to dance floor or there is a huge bar area or can be adventurous and jump in the pool with all the inflatables. Las Vegas is famous for its shows; there is something for everyone. Cirque du Soleil is extremely popular; they have magic shows, famous singers including Britney, J-LO etc. Another thing to do of an evening is the helicopter tour of the Strip; it’s a great experience. You can see all the buildings lit up, it’s a fabulous view, and there is so much to see.

What would be your perfect day in Vegas?

Grand Canyon Helicopter Trip

One of my favourite memories of Las Vegas and especially of the trip I took there last year, was our helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon. It has to be one of my favourite days ever and I want to do it all over again every time I go!

We decided to go with Sun Dance Helicopters of whom I highly recommend, from beginning to end they created a magical, informative but fun experience. Its connected to the Las Vegas airport and located at the end of the strip quite near to the famous Las Vegas sign… we actually walked down to the sign afterwards which is a must on anyones first trip to Vegas! So doing this helps to kill 2 birds with one stone. Those who are after some luxury can actually get a limo pick up from their hotel, an option which Sun Dance do provide.

The experience started with us checking in for the flight and getting welcomed on board by the pilot, we then soon took off and the first views were of the Las Vegas strip and what a view that is! We started going over the rest of Vegas seeing the huge amount of homes it holds. Soon after we continued over the desert we could see horses galloping the odd car on there way to see the Grand Canyon themselves, whilst our pilot informed us all about Las Vegas, its history, how it became ‘The Famous Las Vegas’ also about the Grand Canyon and its surroundings and the famous Hoover Dam, we learnt so much!

Seeing the Hoover Dam was absolutely incredible, it’s so beautiful and such a clever design, and of course Las Vegas wouldn’t exist without this and the water/electricity it supplies. After a 40 minute ride we started to embark onto the canyons themselves, and what a view that was, just magnificent, such a natural beauty. I was speechless as we continued into the Grand Canyon itself, the view was out of the world, so magical, so much to see, I couldn’t wait to get off the helicopter and explore. We landed onto one side of the Canyon, explored, looked at the wonderful views and had a lovely champagne breakfast in what I can only describe as possibly the best location I could dream for.

Once we got back onto the helicopter our pilot carried on educating us on all that we could see. When we got back to Las Vegas itself he carried on the tour by taking us up and then back down the Las Vegas Strip, which wasn’t part of the tour but he took us anyway. It was fantastic and made you realise how even though the Strip can seem never ending its actually quite small in the grand scheme of things.

This tour is something I would suggest anyone who visits Las Vegas to do, don’t let the price put you off as it really is one of the best experiences I have ever had and I’m itching to go back and do it again. I think its something that could never get boring.

Catch you in the next post! xox

A Whistle-Stop Tour Of My Fav Vegas Bits…

The Fabulous Las Vegas … where do I start?!

What an amazing place they call an adults Disney Land… 24 hours of fun, where you’ve got the inventive hotels, the amazing night/day clubs, the malls where you can shop until you drop, and not forgetting the selection of restaurants you can have whatever food you so desire.

The main Las Vegas Strip, although it looks small, you could actually wonder up and down all day walking in and out of hotels and viewing the incredible designs including my fav, the New York New York and it’s roller coaster that goes around the whole outside of the hotel, it’s mini Empire state building, Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty, and for all the chocolate lovers (like me!) they have a huge Reeses shop!

One of my favourite hotels is the Cosmo… it is just beautiful inside and out. It has a huge chandelier inside and also for all the shoe lovers out there, it has a huge Louboutin Heel which is big enough you can sit in a get a picture!

But my favourite hotel of them all has to be the Bellagio … Just wow! It is out of this world and the fountain displays are just amazing. Check out this pic of the fountains at night…

Ceasers Palace is a must go, it’s just fab and home to many designer shops and one of my favourite American restaurants: the Cheesecake Factory… another must when visiting. I also love the shopping in Planet Hollywood, where you will find the likes of Bath and Body Works, Sephora, GNC, American Apparel etc.

Another amazing place to shop and get some huge bargains is the outlets. They have two lots: the North and the South Outlets, and from my own experience they are both amazing… but if I had to choose, the south outlets had more to offer for me personally.

When looking for somewhere to eat for lunch or in the evening, my favourite suggestion would have to be Mon Ami Gabi. It is situated at the bottom of the Paris hotel (which is another beautifully made hotel by the way) and its also opposite the Bellagio fountains. I would suggest that if you do choose to go there, that you wait and get a seat outside on the terrace. Here you can sit, eat amazing French cuisine and watch the world go by… but most of all you’ll have a front row seat when the Bellagio fountains go off. That has to be one of my favourite memories of my times in Vegas, sat eating steak, drinking Hendrix with my partner and watching the beautiful Bellagio Fountain Displays.

All in all I would say everyone should visit Las Vegas once in his or her life, there is just something for everyone. The shopping, the extravagant shows, the food, the sights and the hotels… it is all just great and there are so many memories to be made there!

So what did you think of my first post guys? If you liked it, drop me a comment and keep your eyes peeled for my next post which will be about one of my favourite activities to do when I’m in Vegas… A helicopter ride round the Grand Canyon!

See you then 😀 xox
